Realising I would probably only have a single night before the next full moon, I managed to escape from our visiting guests and got a leave pass to take advantage of the perfect conditions (other than the Moon) on Sunday night :D
No wind and perfectly clear and steady seeing  - perfect for narrowband imaging
I got all the data in one night and tried hard to show all three emission lines in the processing and yes, yes, I like just a little magenta left in the stars of NB images
Here is the 100% resolution Full Frame (Just for Marcus) to trawl around:
The Prawn (http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/163445869/original)
You can just shrink it in your browser if you want fit it on your screen better.
EDIT: Here is a wider field composite using some of my data collected in 2011 using the much larger FLI16803 chip

Spectacular job with the OIII and SII, Mike. A lovely image. And crispy sharp detail.
Will go well with lime, coriander, and shredded coconut.

Fan-bludee-tastic!!! Full res, full frame! Yippee!!! Awesome!!!
The image is OK too ;):P Smooth and a lovely balance of colour! Surprised you haven't thrown a bit more contrast at it though (?) 10 min subs?
<sigh> I can only dream of getting all data in one night! I'm working on my very first NB image right now - 10 hours and counting and probably need 10 more.

Looks fantastic Mike! I'll have to keep this as a colour reference when I redo mine :)
I think we both want much larger FOVs!
Very nice Mike. I dream of getting some nice long imaging nights. Great looking colours in there. Nice and smooth and definitely not over the top

Stop it! you're making me hungry

Cheers Marcus  This image just seemed to need to be displayed at full res, just looked better, probably because it is so subtle and tenuous? That's the benefit if 12" and F3.8 mate (yes 10min subs), single night multi filter compositions are indeed achievable. The best renditions I have seen of this nebula tend to be the more subtle ones, those that show the transparency of the nebulosity, so I guess I was shooting for that look. I did try applying more contrast and high pass filtering but I didn't like the look...I'll have another look tonight though, thanks for the feedback :)
Cheers Col, hey my FOV is great for many objects, just this one was pushing the ideal framing a bit, yours is perfect for this neb I recon. Glad you like the colours, while a small number of emission nebs have almost none of one of the emissions present, to me 3 filter NB images need to show three distinct colours within in the blend, if they are there :).
Thanks Tezza ...your time will come, very soon....;)

I don't see no prawn but that's one damn fine Hubblesque nebula!!

Just been wandering around and totally absorbed by your creative crustacean. And I can definitely see the prawn. Great stuff!

Cheers Steve and Rod, had to post the full res to facilitate the immersive wandering

Nice one Mike. FOV a bit tight. Time to get the dust off the Proline? Well framed though.
I like the colour you've achieved. Golden tones and nice blues I think are the new narrowband hip colour scheme all the trendies are using.
These long winter nights are an astrophotograhers dream, its nearly 12 hours of darkness at the moment.
As it happened I also imaged this in less than one night last night. Yet to see if it needs more data or not. The downloads looked good and I also had spectacular seeing at my dark site.

Thanks Peter :)
Aaaah yes, the ProLine ..still on track for an FSQ by years end to go on that :D Thing is I just love the resolution I get with the H694 on the AG12, a noticable improvement over the ProLine and with the integrated OAG, no need to worry about diff flex and the small chip means any residual image plane tilt isn't a problem..hence why I have had the little blighter on for almost three years now :)
Oh yeah baby I'm hip alright :cool2:
What did you have with you at your dark site..?
Cheers Rick, rainbow, yes, that's what it looks like...although M&T got the flavours spot on :)
Thanks Russ :)
Cheers Lee, I got my imaging fix at least, was a crisp cold Canberra night with no wind and a mild frost...aaah, that's the life :drink:...got a bit cold by 4am though :cold:

That is fantastic Mike, love those narrow band colours contrasting against the dark tiny knots of nebula. Panning over the hires is awesome!

Nice one again Mike. Great colour and detail. I would think about turning up the local contrast just a bit to highlight those lower contrast regions just a bit more but of course narrowband is all personal preference.

Cheers Steve, yeah Marcus said something similar and I did tweak it as a result, just wanted a less contrasty, more tenuous gaseous look I think?

I decided to utilise some of my data taken on this field back in early 2011 using the big FLI 16803 chip.
Even though it is the same scope, the latest data is much higher resolution than the old data because my site is much better now (Newcastle skies were poor seeing all the time compard to Canberra) and my image scale is twice as fine with the current Starlightxpress camera. So blending the two data sets in a natural way was indeed quite tricky and while I improved my processing on my 2011 data I also had to sacrifice a little of the latest data resolution in order to keep the blend looking natural.
Details of the two systems are under the image

Very nice Mike. I prefer this one.
I also like to combine data from different scopes and cameras. It pays dividends to archive your data so you can add to it in a future year.

I like this new version - a lot. :)
It really delivers on all fronts, colour, detail, FOV etc.
Wasn't a fan of the original post. There was a strange softness, almost a posterized look but that's all gone in this new version.
The star colours look much nicer too imo :D
Must have been tricky merging the two data sets but it looks like it was well worth it

Cheers Andy
Funnily enough  ...I prefer the original :) I think the processing is better and more natural and it was this softness, that I think you are referring to?..that I liked about the image , the resolution is better too...can't really see any posterizing..? Certainly the latest FOV fits the full prawn in...but it's more of a Scampi though

Cheers men  the conditions were reasonably favourable for the latest narrow field higher res data set but they were rather crappy for the old 2011 set  but with a little manipulation the combine came together ok I guess.
