Hello all , long time no see people .
I thought I would share with you, a shot of the Eagle Nebula(M16)I took a few months back .
This is another one of these beautiful examples of a cluster imbedded in a emission nebula and is just an awesome sight in a big scope !
(24"Magellan Observatory) hint hint !
Shot through a ZS 105 with a SXV-H9C guided on a G11 mount with a short tube 80.
Exposure time was 4 minutes x 15 , captured with AA3 and CS2 for post processing.
I hope you all enjoy It !

Thanks David,glad you like It.
No mate not yet but I will be next new moon and can't wait !
Very nice eagle Louie, very nice indeed.
I have never seen through anything bigger than 12" so I can imagine that the 24" will be something quite special.
cheers

Thanks Ric,yes mate I am much looking forward to It. The biggest I've gotton to look through has been 20"dobs and that was another ball game!
So all I can say is two weeks to go and counting ! :jump:

Thanks Petra.
Love the Eagle.
Just a fabulous photographic subject.
Bit of a frustrating object for me, though. Visually it's a bit of a disappointment compared to other nearby nebs such as the Lagoon and Swan, which are so very nice visually.

Thanks Matt,an OIII filter and a big scope will do a nice job on It Matt.
I have the DGM NPB which does a nice job on the Lagoon, Swan etc in my 9.25 with XLT
But the Eagle is just a little more elusive for some reason:shrug:
I can see it, but it's just not as good as the others.
Might have to invest in a specific OIII at some point to see the difference
