The weather just cleared in time to get the conjunction of 2013 X1 and the Helix Nebula. Taken out the bedroom window.

Kevin,
I agree with others, a good shot considering how low the objects were.
Pretty well impossible from Melbourne.
Are you sure about the time?
I calculate the image was around UTC 16:00, which would be around 02:00 am.

Thanks Steve. Sorry about the clouds.
Thanks Luke!
Thanks Lindon. It takes a comet. ;)
Thanks Pete!
Thanks Morton. ;)
Thanks Dave. Sorry about the weather. :(
Thanks Tony. The window was open. ;)
Thanks Colin. I am glad to have this window. Just threw the air conditioner out of it last week. ;)
Thanks Paul. The time might be a bit early as that was session start and I didn't use all the subs. But 16:00 is too late as the altitude is too high for the window. Session end would probably be around 15:40 UT.
Haha, thanks Mike.
Great catch Kevin.
Well done.

Thanks Andrew!
Thanks Greg. Yes it was pretty much just this morning. Tonight the comet has moved over 1 degree and 40 minutes away from the Helix. Still in view of wide field scopes.

Thanks all. The comet has faded a bit now, about mag 7ish in Norma. There is a little dark nebula in this field to the right.
