View Full Version here: : Bintel (GSO) finderscope focus?
This is a real noob question so please be patient. I have a Bintel (GSO) 8x50 finderscope and I can't work out how to focus it. I've tried twisting everything that looks like it might focus but to no avail. Anyone know what I'm going wrong.

I assume you mean Bintel not Intel ;)
GSO finders can be focussed at the objective end. There is a locking ring behind the dew shield, you undo that and and then you can turn the dew shied (which has the objective lens fixed within) till you get best focus, then tighten the locking ring to secure it in place. Let us know how you go.
Thank you. I'll give it a shot.

PS. I did not explain it very well.
For clear instructions see user manual for similar Orion branded product: http://www.telescope.com/assets/product_files/instructions/29184_02-09.pdf
I find focusing them during the day on a distant object helps as it’s a bit easier to see if you’re getting closer to or further away from best focus.
