this years luminous fungi

Not many luminous fungi so far this year its been too dry, this is a very tired looking specimen shot last night under a full moon, but it is still managing a dull glow. pretty happy with the new Pentax k1. this was shot at 12800 iso!!! with a 30 second hi-resolution pixel shift shot (4x30 second in camera)see here for explanation

the second one is from last year as a comparison, this was actually shot in the rain and took 3x15 minute exposures stacked in registax:lol: instead of the 2 minutes with the new model.
just waiting for the first cold snap and rain, the watagin mountains will have heaps of colourful little fungi

Lovely shots Brad. Omphalotus nidiformis. There was an amazing amount of these locally this year, and it was incredibly dry and warm. I don't know enough about them to know if this is preferred by O. nidiformis, because I generally think cool and moist is a fungi's preferred climate.

you are right trevor these like a bit of moisture an a little colder,the shots from last year you can actually see them growing over the 45minutes of the three subs.This year they were shrinking over the evening from lack of moisture. If we get some rain and i can find some more, i think i will try a time lapse
