Hi guys.
I just thought I would share a good experience with a store and also my new scope. Today I finally got a 102mm F10 reflector and have mounted it on a skywatcher star discovery goto mount. All I can say is WOW. The image that this scope produces far outweighs my expectations and the little star discovery mount is a little gem. Sure it's not a eq goto mount but it's rated to 6kg which hold my refractor perfectly and is a dream to use. I also can't thank Sirus Optics enough. Their service is unreal

Another update,
The amount of viewing has been minimal due to a interstate stint for a conference and then cloudy nights but I have made a few adjustments. I have fitted a skywatcher auto focuser and did the switch mod. I have also fitted my telrad aswell. I am so happy how this little scope has turned out. It's not the biggest or the most expensive but I believe for a total of just over 1k I have a great scope to learn with.

Have you had a chance to put the mount thru it's paces yet??
I'm thinking of getting one myself & a bit of heads up would be great.
Thanks

Well I just gave the mount a try tonight. I can't recommend this mount enough. It's tracking is great and even at high magnification the image stays clear and centered. The goto works great. The only thing I can pick at is when it's slewing it isn't the quietest but for $600 how can you complain.

 I had one of these many years ago , the Celectron C102 f10 version , my first real refractor and like you :eyepop: WOAW!!!what a big step up from what I was using before , these are great scopes for little money .

Glad you had a hastle free buy from Sirus optics , they are very good .

Slightly under rated by many these days ( shame really ;) ) but perform exceptionally on the moon and planets taking 200x plus with ease ( not bad on deep sky in a dark site as well ) .

Enjoy it , it looks like a beauty on that nice mount .

Brian.

I had another view the other night aswell using a 32mm 2inch eyepiece that I bought from another member. I had a good look at the eagle nebula and another one I can't remember. (the joys of goto) lol. Views were unreal with a really wide field of view. Super happy.
