Hi All,

another of my images from SPSP.
This one was taken through the North Group ED102. 10 x 5 minute guided subs using the astro-modified Pentax K-5 IIs.

Seem to have some off-axis bloom around the bright star. Comments and advice welcome of course.

That looks good Peter, lovely magenta pink...just as it should be.

Unless they are really prominent, inherent optical aberrations like that don't really bother me, all part of the instrument in my eyes

How good was the weather at Wiruna this SPSP!

I think it looks good too, Pete. You can always process out the halos if you don't like them but I don't reckon they detract from the image in this case.

Cheers,
Rick.

Good work.

(I struggle to like natural colour images of nebulae - they often look too like blood and gore and surgery gone wrong. My medical background perhaps.)

A very nice job here. Top shelf.

Best,
Mike

Thanks Mike.
Haven't seen this scope have aberrations like that before (but all previous images weren't guided and I've never gone beyond 1 or 2 minute subs before).

Weather at SPSP was certainly great this year - was a real boon to get several clear nights in a row.

Thanks Rick - I really appreciate the positive comment.

Thanks Mike much appreciated.

This one wasn't too hard to get a reasonable colour with although I had a couple of goes before I was happy. I've some data from the LMC and I've had a couple of goes at processing that and still can't get anything close to what I would consider respectable colour out of it. Will post it if/when I manage to produce something reasonable.

Thanks very much Russell
