Had my first play with Registax 4 this evening on a Tycho AVI I took a few weeks back. Interesting update with a lot of potential.

Attached is the result of a 7 point alignment attempt versus a single point from a few weeks back. Significant difference. However I struggled to get the alignment blocks to all line up 100%. Just wondering what the best way to overcome this is and to what extent inaccurate tracking and telescope vibration contribute to this problem?

Which one is the new version, John? I think the left one looks like the new one (I can see some joins)?

To avoid the obvious joins appearing, ensure you have "feather" set on, with a value of 3 or 5 pixels.

Also avoid alignment boxes near the edge where they won't have enough frames to stack.

A stunning image!

Thanks Mike, I'll try that. The right image is the one done as a single alignment in Registax 3.
Click on both images, open a new browser, and use Alt Tab to see the huge difference multi point aligning makes.

Hi john, if you are talking about the box in your image, after stacking, click the button 'Do All'. This will remove the box .

Hmm, that's one impressive Tycho; both in R3 and R4. Top job.

Cheers

Nice image. As Mike said. The "feather" feature (5 pixels works nice) to avoid the join lines must be on.
