Fun with the kids

When I was a kid the 2 most amazing presents I received were a telescope and a microscope. I was ten when I got my telescope and it was around the time of the first moon landing. I used that small refractor well into my thirties. Well my daughter just turned ten and I got her a 5 inch MAK on a goto. The screams of delight at the first views of Jupiter, mars, Saturn were great to hear. Finally we got a chance at the moon last night and more amazement. Both the girls are getting a lot of fun out of it and so am I! Great little scope.

Olivia has learned a lot in the last couple of weeks since she got it and even downloaded some apps ive never heard of that you point at the sky to locate the stars and planets. Shes learned to identify a number of objects.

Lovely story of yourself and your kids :) You are indeed fortunate to have your kids to share your enthusiasm for astro. Not only does it mean dad-kiddies time, but this will also foster a love of learning and curiosity in them.
