Hey guys, here is my latest attempt with a brand new scope!

eta Carina Nebula
Taken from suburban Brisbane
12-5-16 (roughly 1/4 moon)
Scope: Skywatcher ED100 @ f/9
Mount: HEQ5pro
Camera: Canon EOS 70D
Lights: 103 x 120sec @ 1600ISO
Darks: 38 x 120sec
Flats: 20 x 1sec
Bias: 50 x 1/8000sec
Stacked and processed in pixinsight
Guiding via PHD2 and webcam

Very nice Chris, the only comment I have is that the brighter parts of
the nebula are a bit too bright for my personal taste.

That looks really nice Chris! You certainly have picked up a LOT in that image, love the star colours :)

You look like you have done what I do a lot, try and show too much! When doing so you lose all of the contrast. Other than that small thing, it's a great shot.

Thanks for advise, I do agree that the image contrast is slightly high, unfortunately that seems to occur when converting from the .xisf format into .jpg for upload. The original image has more dynamic range which is lost during conversion, i'm currently experimenting with image formats that will preserve the data as much as possible.
