So i just received my new pentax k1 and could not resist trying the new pixel shift function on the moon.A link to an explanation http://diglloyd.com/blog/2016/20160218_1331-PentaxK1-SuperResolutionMode.html

so this is a shot out of camera, it came out at 145mb and i am very pleased, if i stack a few it should be even better:thumbsup:

Wow, that's sharp. Pixel shift is a great feature. I hope Sony develop their version of it.

WoW. awesome. What scope/lens did you use?

I am considering getting the K1 as well, when the wait list dries up.

It is already a 4 image stack, inside the camera, so I'd think further stacking will only show some incremental improvements.

Looks like it performs really well! That is one sucker of a file though!

That's really good, if not stacked
Was this processed in Registax or similar?

That's a nice feature to have on board. Great shot. The subtle noise-free colour makes for a vivid lively image.

fantastic image Brad!

i never knew about this pixel shift technology. One day, we will look back on our mono planetary cameras and filter wheels when this technology is implemented by Sony and incorporated into the planetary cameras supplied by the likes of ZWO and QHYCCD. The data rate would be immense though (essentially quadruple that of a mono!)
