P.S. I doubt the slight background brightness variations are hints IFN....
probably the neighbours DFF (dammed ......g flood-light)

Stunning detail. Adaptive optics using xi 1 Centauri as the guide star at 20 frames a second?

I wish I could produce images with that sort of contrast. Wimper.

I know it sounds a bit sacrilegious, but I'd probably reduce the dust induced red cast a bit to make the colour nuance in the galaxy pop a bit more.

That Alluna RC 16 is an amazing scope.
Imagine if you set it up away from the city lights!

Colour still looks a bit magenta to me. Detail is good though.

Thanks Marc. Ah... I wish it was easy! The ever increasing light glow from Sydney makes my urban imaging more difficult with time. I've also much more work to do due the fact I'm now using an instrument rotator.

Fantastic for acquiring bright guide stars, but now I need flats for each unique camera rotation angle.

While I prefer sky flats, I suspect I'll need to migrate to a softly glowing El panel soon (sigh...more expense! ) for timely calibration frames. If you push my recent effort (above) to the nth degree, you'll see radial illumination background changes, which simply are due the flat fields being a few degrees off....More exposure time would good, plus a larger scope, larger dome, better seeing....:lol:
