I have done a bit of reassessment of my gear needs and need to offload a few bits and pieces so I will start with this.
Identical to this scope http://www.bintel.com.au/Telescopes/Cassegrain/Bintel-GSO-RCA-150-f/9-Astrograph--Steel-/601/productview.aspx apart from not having the Bintel label. Comes with a couple of extras that I have added, namely
- Vixen mounting rail on top (these scopes unlike the bigger versions, normall only have a single mounting rail)
- GSO collimation ring

Also includes the extension rings (1 x 50mm and 2 x 25mm) that come standard with these and I have the original packaging.

This was purchased new in September 2015 and only been used a few times. There is some marring of the bottom dovetail from the mount, but is purely cosmetic (shown in photo). Optics are fine.

These scopes do need collimation so if you are not confident about collimating an RC, think carefully before buying. I do have a Tak Collimating scope that I will put up for sale in accessories with the proviso that I will give priority to anyone buying this scope. See http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=145506

On the plus side with this scope, this is a substantial aperture that can handled by a relatively lightweight (eg HEQ5) mount.

In view of the extras (the ring alone costs $109 new) and it's condition, price is open to offers. If no serious offers made within 24 hours I will sell the Tak collimating scope and withdraw this item.

Alrighty no interest yet!!

So don't forget this is coming with collimation rings AND a top Vixen bar to make attaching a guide scope easier. If you don't have this you are relying on one of those little 50mm guidescopes, which may struggle with a scope of 1310mm focal length or off axis which is not an option if going DSLR.

So how about $475??

I have had a couple of queries. Just to be clear the extras I am referring to are:

Collimating ring
Vixen top rail

Neither of these are supplied with these scopes. Check both the Bintel and Andrews website if you want confirmation.

The Collimating ring is the same as the one used for the 8" version of this scope and I was unable to find a source for a Vixen bar in Australia so ended up buying one from the States that cost nearly $100. I am happy to entertain offers on this scope supplied without these 2 accessories, but from my experience they add considerable value.

Still no interest.

Let's say $400

Don't forget you get valuable extras and first dibs on a Tak Collimating scope and adaptor.

As I am getting offers on the Tak Collimating scope I will throw this scope open to offers for 24 hours.

Cheers
