Finally had another crack at the Gabriela data I acquired a little while ago. I'd started to give up on being able to combine narrowband data in such a way to get colours I actually liked.
I'm reasonably happy with the colour on this one, all thanks to Rick's Colour Mask script for PixInsight. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but that's my doing, the script just gives us a relatively simple way of adjusting different colours in PI.
Haven't really done the data justice in terms of luminance detail, made zero effort there at all, this was all about the colour.

Nice work, Lee. Looks good!
I'm glad the script was helpful. I use it a lot with NB.
Cheers,
Rick.

Grouse colour that blue, looks like a mid air space lake for thirsty aliens :drink:
Sounds like you have achieved some particular processing technique as well, so well done on that note also, Lee
Great show of an image

Thanks everyone, appreciate the feedback :-) Still not all that happy with it, but at least I have a way forward with narrowband colour now.
Thanks again, Rick!

Hi Mike,
it is a lovely image but do you think it's a bit over smoothed?
I like to see a little bit of noise in a picture to see
where the noise floor is.
cheers

I know that was directed to Mike, and not myself, but I'm responding all the same :p
I fully agree. I don't normally use noise reduction at all so I'm not sure how to do it well yet. On this image I did use NR, and it was a very lazy attempt. Not only does it not look right to me, but it definitely compromised detail.
As a side note, people should always feel free to provide constructive criticism of my images, it helps me to learn. Praise also can, but only when it's honest.

Hi Lee,
Thanks - it's constructive criticism & I wonder what Mike would say?
I know he tends to leave a bit of noise in his pics.
Anyway - I really like your image.
cheers
Allan
