It's time I learned collimation.

Therefore, I'm seeking a Cheshire. Not top of the range but something accurate (avoiding lasers for this reason). And a collimation cap or Cheshire sight-tube combo. I'm a bit confused but figure a Cheshire is a good starting point.

Thanks for looking, Iain

Hi Iain,
I bought my Skywatcher Cheshire from Survey & Instrument Specialists, for around $75. (although it was about 8 years ago I think)
A shop near you, in Newcastle.
60 Belford Street,
Broadmeadow.

Sorry, mine is not for sale.
BUT
I am happy for you to come down and use mine and I can show you how best to use it. (I'm in Wyong Shire)
I also have a very precise laser collimator. [HOTECH]
(and a standard quality one for sale [Orion]).
It is interesting to compare the results. And I can explain where each one has relative advantages.

If interested, PM me for address details.
Of course this offer is open to anyone else in the neighbourhood too.

Thanks for the tip Allan, I'll check them out if I have no luck here - grabbed my SW dob from them back in Jan but didn't realise they stocked accessories - although I prefer to buy used if I can... recycling:)

Some tips and advice would be very welcome, thanks! I'll take you up on that if I can make it to the Pony Club weekend after next.

Cheers, Iain
