Hi Lindon,
The image in the eyepiece is always very very much sharper and more detailed than the photos. It's been very difficult to get a decentish image of Jupiter. If I take enough pics on enough nights I might get a good one one day. No hurry though I think I pretty much have the field of big dob, at the eyepiece, iPhone astrophotography all to myself :)

Thats very cool Barry   Do you have the iPhone in a holder attachment of sorts or just free hand ?
Just wondering - as I have an idea I do :P

Hey Bob,
I made an adapter out of an old orion phone adapter, a 2" pvc plumbing joiner, velcro and some large nylon bolts. With nylon bolts or screws and different sized pvc pipe fittings you can adapt an iPhone holder to any eyepiece. :D

thanks Barry,
have you considered/do you have an equatorial platform for your beautiful 'scopes?
and . . . the next step on the slippery AP slope would be an Atik infinity camera ??

Nice one Barry, that's it.
Just a thought, if you have ios 6 or so, could use a 'selfie stick, no no, not to help reach it ;) but they have a flexi cable on the end, 'thinking, could join to a bit longer cable, and have it act as a remote release help take out any shake if there would seem to be by tapping on the screen, , if that's how you do it' ,
then rattle of a few or a dozen and stack them :P
Only of course if you wish or thought to stack for even more detail, could be rather productive as there is quite a bit of detail in these
Probably more of a thunk of mine than a thought tho, , , ,

Did you use any stacking software such as Autostakkert?
These look very good. Movies made by an iPhone can be easily processed with Autostakkert.

Sorry no stacking involved I just take lots of snaps and hope for the best. I'm not really keen on getting heavy into astrophotography apart from trying to ar$e a decent image with an iPhone for something different and bragging rights. I'll leave the image processing to the pros.
One day when the seeing is perfect .... muahaaa:lol:
