The large Sunspot AR 2529 shows some interesting detail in the umbra and penumbra even in mediocre seeing.

I recorded Live View video at 5x with BackYardEOS at about 20 frames per second out of a stock Canon 700D hooked up to my 5-inch refractor working with a Dakin Barlow at about f/21.5. This gave almost 2,800 millimeters of focal length.

This is a stack of the best 100 frames out of 10,000 total. Planetary Image Pre Processor (PIPP) was used to grade the frames and select the best 1000 frames for AutoStakkert!2 to stack. Photoshop CC 2016 was then used to crop the image slightly, adjust the levels, sharpen and add false color.

Nice image Jerry. did you change the iso much to get the detail (as Gain)? Looks like you have worked out a great process for yourself to get a good result

Thanks David,

I used ISO 200 because I knew from previous tests that it would work.

I changed the shutter speed as I experimented with different magnifications with different Barlow spacings.
