The Carina Nebula (also known as the Eta Carinae Nebula, NGC 3372) is a large bright nebula that has within its boundaries several related open clusters of stars. The nebula lies at an estimated distance between 6,500 and 10,000 light years from Earth. It appears in the constellation of Carina.

The wide field image consists of 6 hours worth of 3 minute shots ISO 1600 taken with a Canon 6D and 200mm f2.8 set at 5.6 mounted on a guiding telescope.

The up close image consists of 5 hours and 15 minutes of red (1h 45m), green (1h 35m) and blue (1h 55m) images.
Taken with a TEC 140mm on Astrophysics1100 using a self guided SBIG 8300m.

I also really like the widefield, seeing so many stars puts things into perspective...

The up close image is very nice, but I would like a bit more vibrancy in it :)

My vote is for the widefield too, Mark. The close up is decent but could use a little more "pop."
