Abstract: The aurora australis remain an elusive sight from Australia. But from Western Canada the identical aurora borealis often appear in the sky. Alan Dyer will present an inspiring gallery of still images, time-lapse movies, and real-time videos of the Northern Lights taken from his home province of Alberta, Canada, and from the edge of the Arctic in Churchill, Manitoba. Alan heads north every winter to the shores of Hudson Bay, to a latitude of 58 degrees north, to shoot the Lights from the prime zone where they dance overhead almost every clear night in spectacular displays.
Hello Canadian Astronomer gave a great Presentation at the Parkes April CWAS Meeting on Friday Night 1st of April - His Talk Chasing The Northern Lights.
