Crop in of a work in progress, just the start. Only 5 mins RGB data (5 x 1min subs) and 33 mins (11 x 3min) Ha using my Celestron 9.25" Edge HD + Hyperstar + QHY12 OSC CCD.
Post processing in PixInsight .. which I'm slowly coming to terms with!

Looking good already, nice work Dylan
Great to hear you are getting more comfortable with PI. From my limited experimentations with PI I have learnt to use any processing algorithms very carefully and with moderation.
Looking forward to the final version of the photo.

Thanks! Yes, getting the hang of the UI and using previews for some of the algorithms has helped me apply the processing liberally and carefully across the image with respect to the features that need preserving.

Looking good, Dylan! Looks nice and sharp, like the colour. PI is awesome, and it looks like you're getting the hang of it.

Well done Dylan. That's one of the best eta Carinae RGB shots I've seen for a long time. No overblown highlights, good colour, detail in the keyhole.
Stick with PI--way to go.

Ahh thanks Geoff! I was actually surprised at how useable the colour data was after 5 x 1m exposures. I've been pushing for longer exposures for a long time but realise they can be damaging to the core detail of many bright targets so have started to pull back a bit.

That's excellent for such a small amount of data, Dylan. Should be awesome with more :)
