I haven't worked out how to properly merge two files together without the ugly seam. Maybe one day. :)

The close up area was using a 3 x Barlow. I'm not sure if all the dark spots are really sunspots or just dust donuts.

I managed to get this in the early afternoon when the clouds cleared for a short time.

By The Way, you havent a 'solar scope' listed in your Signature, so you were using a particular filter with the RC10 then :question:

To capture them filaments is interesting - good stuff :thumbsup:

Updated the signature with the details. Thanks for prompting me. :)

I suspect I can do even better than what I've managed so far: tighter focus, better seeing, less clouds will help. It's so bright when I'm doing this, that the screen is difficult to see things well. I can foresee setting up some form of hood in the future.

And I'd really like to get some flares/prominences sometime too. No luck with that yet.

I have seen solar imagers using a good sized black cloth/towel over the scope camera and ones head to see what is going on a lot clearer !!
In the winter, that would keep the chilly winds of the ears huh, but in the summer heat, Air-Con comes to mind :lol:
