I managed to finally process the little RPG data i collected for NGC 1433.
Wasn't as bad as i thought it would turn out.
My blue data is very weak i think i need to do a little longer exposures for blue to get the raw histogram looking equal.
I found this youtube vid by Astrodon

I'm not sure if that method would help

Lum

I kind of liked my plain Luminescence version better

You've got some really nice detail in the galaxy Michael. I do like your RGB version but I do agree, sometimes the plain luminance just has that something special that is lost when adding the RGB data. Sort of like a standard Ha image instead of a full narrowband composite :)

I know what you mean, the colour isn't too bad but the Lum is really excellent. Probably just need a bit more RGB

Very nice, Michael! Don't be afraid to denoise the colour heavily if you have good quality lum to add to it.
Cheers,
Rick.

Nice work. I like the lum image. Good detail.
How are you finding the GSO RC 14" ?

Yum. The colour version even as it stands is great. I especially like the fine dust lanes spiralling right into the nucleus inside the central bar. Excellent work.

Hello Michael!
I like the color image but - the Luminance image is really great! Sometimes its a bit tricky to get good colors. Most of the time i do it like Rick suggested: denoise the RGB and get everything out of it. I add the Luminance in three steps - 33%, 66% and 100% and increase the color between every step. Maby this helps a little bit.

Hi Michael,
that's a great result - I can't really find better.
The Luminance shows a lot fainter detail.
Maybe the colour background is too dark?
cheers

Thanks for the nice comments guys.
I think next year i will try this target again and collect more colour data as Strongmanmike suggested.
Hopefully by then my Processing skills will have improved to the point where i can get the same detail as my Lum into my LRGB.
I would love to see other renditions of NGC 1433 next year from some of the members here with much better skills and gear than me.
GSO RC14 going ok but i really do need a bigger camera imaging at 0.39arcsec/pixel is not great and guiding with my tiny OAG with Asi120 makes things even more hair pulling.
I have tried using AP CCD67 reducer but with my gear the vignetting was atrocious.
Also the method i used to try reduce the tray light issue with the GSO RC14's probably isn't the best way to go about it.
Thanks for the tips Markus interesting method i will have to try this see if its better.
Biggest problem i had with my RGB was the really bad gradients. The background was green one side and purple of the other.

Nice sharp image Michael. Perhaps the saturation could be upped a bit.

Michael this is actually quite well done when you consider the massive image scale you are using. 0.39" is well beyond what most would image at and yet your detail level is quite fine and sharp. Well done on the detail. Colour is ok too in my opinion. Keep em coming.

Lovely round stars at such high resolution - awesome work Michael

Hello Michael
I know that problem from my trip to Chile last October, suffering from really bad gradients caused by airglow...not very funny.:)

Thanks Paul i really do need to invest in a camera with bigger pixels to get the most out of the RC just shame its going to mean some serious $$$$ or some major overtime at work.
Thanks Suavi i owe my roundish stars to Paul and his invaluable tips for collimating my RC.
