Twas the night before new moon

early morning crescent moon over the swamp at wallsend, in another 24 hours it will have moved another 13 degrees which puts it far too close to the sun to view safely. not in shot is venus which was about a handspan away.

also if you look hard near the transmission tower there is the planet Mercury
