I am a complete newbie been trying this out on my own for a few months, probably doing lots of things wrong but somehow seem to enjoy it anyways from my backyard in Shepparton with my poor man's 10inch saxon dob plus stock eyepieces. Wondering if any of you are in the surrounds. Would love to connect and learn the ropes. For everyone else, a big hello!:hi:

And welcome to IIS. Although it's a bit further West, have you thought about going to the Snake Valley Astro Camp this weekend? It usually attracts people from all over the state - maybe one or two of them might be closer to you than us Melbournites.
