The Thinest Crescent Moon I have seen.

Hi All,

First of Appolgies to Ken, and thanks to you also. Appolgies for doubting your thinest Crescent prediction, you were spot on. And thanks for lettins us all now.

First I saw it visually after sighting Jupiter an Mercury i formed the triangle to the Moon. Then I setup the binos for the family to see, they were rapped.

This particular Crescent has signifacnce to us because it signifies the end of Ramadan (month of fasting for muslims).

Well here are three of the many shots I took with my A610.
One with Moon quiet low over a tree. The other with the trio Moon Mercury and Jupiter. Lastly a plan that passed by.

Well i had to chase a horizon I can tell you, I had no idea exactly where the moon was until well after sunset, then I found it in the hazy sunset light. Got heaps better as it was setting, but more distorted too with the atmosphere:D

Ken, congrats on the new job I just saw your thread. And I hope it was not your job that kept you away. You still have the linear alignment tomorrow of Mercury, the Moon and Jupiter. There is also the tranist of Mercury coming up.

Glad that you caught the Moon this evening... I saw it myself but didn't get a chance to image it myself.

Tomorrow evening will be nice too... hope the clouds stay away (though lord knows we need the rain).

Nice work guys!:thumbsup: I tried to see the moon this arvo but failed in the sunshine... then I didn't have a view low in the west as the sun set so I missed it. Thanks for posting the pics!
