My new scope is finally built. it has been 5 months of waiting but i am really looking forward to taking delivery and mounting it in the observatory. I have all the adapters, collimation gear and spacers that i need to (fingers crossed) connect it up and start shooting. i really hope that i don't get down there and realise that i needed a different spacer. i am thinking that my first light target will be the antennae galaxies, a good test, but i am open to suggestions.

thanks guys, fingers are definitely crossed, there are so many things that could go wrong that i think it will be a miracle if i can set it up first day and get imaging.

@ russell, i certainly hope so. my goal has always been galaxy imaging. this should do the trick

i will definitely be posting pics as soon as it arrives Rick :)

Completely agree . I have tried to imagine everything possible but with a focus travel of 1/2 an inch and a whole heap of new software controlling every aspect of my imaging, I am expecting issues . I really hope all the calculations are right and I will be dead on the prime focus.

@ Slawomir , thanks , I am pretty excited.

boy this was painful. the shipment was sent a couple of weeks ago, landed in Sydney a week and a half ago but due to a tracking number error i was unable to locate it for the past week, it felt like i had the whole world on the case. Some scary times given the money that is involved but it now appears to be passing through customs and fingers crossed i can pick it up tomorrow.

Its full moon anyway, gives you plenty of time to get it set up - well planned.

Tell me about it, extremely stressful .

I am trying to get it tomorrow so I have the long weekend and next weekend to get it all dialled in before first light

Your lucky customs cancelled the strike they had planned.

Thanks Peter

I didn't even hear about that. I think that would have tipped me over the edge after this fiasco
