Took this last night six by twenty minutes at an ISO of four hundred. It is of part of the other or darker side of the LMC. Just to see how hard we can push the system.

Canon 5DH, Orion 100ED with Astro Physics focal reducer so 640mm at F6.4, 6X20 min at ISO 400, corrected for flats with ImagesPlus, stacked with RegiStar, digitally developed with IP, levels in PS

You've really captured the beauty of the "other" side of the LMC Bert. Nice one. You've even managed to get a damn fine exposure on N 70 down in the lower right :thumbsup:

Maybe a field flattener (optics) would yield rounder stars at the edges and further enhance your gear.

The slightly elongated stars at the corners are due to field rotation. With a slight misalignment betweeen guidescope and imaging scope after twenty minutes exposure there is a bit of field rotation. This is even more apparent with a full frame. This can also be caused by the guidecam not being perfectly aligned with the rotation axes when using guidedog.The Astro Physics focal reducer flattens the field of the 100ED almost perfectly.

Below is a 100% crop (bottom right corner) from a short exposure of the same field.
