Hi all,
Just got a 600D to get some AP going in the future, and I'm about to buy some class 10 SD cards, but I was wondering how much space I will be needing for a night of AP shooting? Am I looking at 64GB cards, or 128GB cards? Would I need to swap cards throughout the night?
Thanks
Chris

Better option is to get Backyard EOS ands use it to control the camera from your laptop. The images then can be saved direct onto your computer so no fiddling around changing cards. It only costs US$50 and has a lot of other advantages. (focusing assistance, allows you to record image info in the files name, image preview among others)
I think it has an option to also save images to a card if you want a backup.

a single RAW frame is about 24.5mb so you are more than OK on 64gb card.
I'd be more worried about battery/power supply. backyard eos is also very handy as Malcolm pointed out.

I have 16GB memory card and it is more than enough for me (that is ~500 frames).
I usually take 16~32 frames per object, plus one set of darks for the night,
Canon EOS utility (it came with your camera on CD) does the remote job (via USB) perfectly well, and you can store your images directly on the HD
However, I found the timer (like one of those (http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=timer+for+canon&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC 0.H1.Xtimer+intervalometer++for+can on.TRS0&_nkw=timer+intervalometer++for+cano n&_sacat=0)) is the best option, and it doesn't require lap or comp to do imaging.

By the way, APT (http://www.ideiki.com/astro/Default.aspx) is a "free" alternative to Backyard EOS if you decide to go that way.

Oh nice one, thanks!
I have actually just ordered one of those intervalometers the other day. And also a couple of spare batteries and a AC-camera power pack for constant mains power. I also got a 16gb card, so sounds like I got something right for a change! hhaa, cheers
