Up all night trying to catch a few with the Gstar-Ex and wide field lens. Here is the best one so far. four sequential shots 2.6 sec each.

woah! Nice catch Bert, certainly some action going on this morning - caught a few from the suburbs no probs, including a ripper like the one you caught - read reports from U.S. observers of higher than usual rates, with a high population of bright ones, and with two radiants clearly noted!

At first all I saw was the possum poo inthe middle of the lens, then the oh wow came in on the other shots!! Excellent results Bert!! pity about that small amount of cloud, seems as though most of australia has some cloud about to some extent. There were some very bright ones there, did you visually see them?

I have got a frame every 2.6 secs (12,500 frames at 2.6secs exposure) for the whole night. Will have to go through the whole lot more carefully. I can watch it as a movie at any rate.I suspect light pollution is masking fainter meteor trails. I either have to set up at a dark sky site or install an LPR filter in the rear of the lens. But so far the results look very encouraging. I have been up all night imaging with the 100ED as well so my ability to pick up faint trails is not to good.
Will do the same thing again tonight.
