How do I add a watermark copyright to an image to show it is mine.-- Tony

I think it depends on the software you use for enhancing/ processing your images. I haven't used it, but I believe PaintShopPro has an option of adding watermarks. Other programs I assume have similar.....

Make sure it is not intrusive or people will not want to look at your images, know that once someone goes watermark crazy I ignore them no matter how good they are.

Is your goal to protect the image or display that it is yours, like a signature?

Only severely intrusive watermarks will moderately deter copyright infringement. Take stock photography for example, plastered with watermarks, but even those will be compromised regularly.

I dont recommended watermarking to our clients because ruins the image and realistically offers little to no benefit.

In Photoshop open image, create a new Layer, add your text with text tool, you can adjust the opacity down to 20% or so if you like.
Then flatten all Layers.
Other programs can do it in a similar way too.

Can I just say that an image you have produced is copyright per se. Meaning it attracts copyright from the moment it is created. It's not necessary to place anything on the image to prevent someone from using your image. Those sort of people will do it anyway and find a way around these things. Only people who want to fool themselves will try to pass off an image of someone else's as their own. They invariably get found out and social media tends to ostracise those that try to do this sort of thing. Rightly or wrongly.

Thanks for that info - I just see a lot of images with a nice logo name on them and that copyright C near the name
