Imaged Jupiter from 2am local Feb 9th in rather ordinary conditions but reasonable detail in 685nm IR.

Started tracking Saturn about 4:30am local and as it got closer to dawn conditions improved significantly.
Have a rather interesting 685nm IR animation, the vertices's of the hex are well seen and I fancy there is a large scale EZ feature which moves from the F side of the CM to just past the P side of the CM, although not as well defined as the large scale EZ feature I tracked through 2015.

Nice one ! some great details there even with 5/10 seeing. How do you go about assessing the seeing scale?

Good question Domenic, I look at how steady or not the stars are at the altitude I am imaging at but the primary thing I go by is the live feed on my monitor. Often the quality of the final processed image will look better than my estimate of the seeing might infer. The thing to remember is my seeing estimate is on the actual live feed, so on the stability of our atmosphere on average for the duration of that capture, not the quality of my finished image. In marginal seeing I may only stack 40 to 50% of my data while in better seeing such as for Saturn on Feb 9th I stacked 65% of the available data.
