Was burning off some log piles on the weekend and grabbed this shot - mainly by chance - and thought the van Gogh/watercolor effect quite striking. Hope others like it.

Very nice, Peter. Done the old fashioned way without an Instagram filter

Yes, thanks for sharing Peter. A very interesting image. But I am flabbergasted that you would be burning off a log pile at this time of year. I doubt it would be possible to get a permit for that down here in Tassie.

Thanks Steve. Rain mate, 2 weeks of drizzle. Perfect time to burn. A lot of preparation beforehand though, slashing, positioning fire truck units, tractor work shaping the heaps, lots of safety precautions. I hate fire too but we have a plague of rabbits and removing habitat is part of the control strategy you just have to do.

Great shot. Considering Vincent Van Gogh did a lot of his paintings depicting the Provence area in the South East of France and he liked his liquor I wouldn't be surprised at all that combined with the heat wave at ground level it would have been a determining factor in the development of his style. You might be onto something here.
