View Full Version here: : Free subscription Astronomy Technology Today
As per title: Astronomy Technology Today are offering free 1 year subscription for the online version of their magazine.
The link at bottom takes you to their subscription page.
In the Discount Code field enter the word "club" (you just need to be a member of an astronomy club, such as IIS).
In Select Subscription field choose "Online access subscription $12".
After selecting subscription you will automatically be taken to Subscription page.
Check that "Discount for club -$12" is written below the big orange SUSCRIBE at the top of the page and there should be NO fields for credit card details at the bottom.
Enter details to complete the subscription process.
Some people have found that the next page for subscriber info has not always shown the discount correctly and it also has fields for credit card details. Just try again is all you can do - there seems to be a small glitch but it should load properly after a few times.

I have never heard of this magazine but they certainly have worthwhile & relevant articles.

Thanks, this is a excellent resource. I would consider continuing after the trial period.

Must have been just yesterday - there doesn't seem to be any club discount offer now - says discount for club -$0

Agreed - I registered but never received the promised emailed password.

I just followed the link, 5 min ago, andsuscribed for a family member and still got free subscription.
Make sure you enter the word club in lower case and BEFORE you select subscription type.
Also maybe do each step slowly.
So, it is still valid. Good luck>

I followed your instructions to the letter (again!), and same result: nothing.
You must have The Magic Touch: go right ahead & register me, if you like!

I just did it after very carefully re-reading the instructions. The key is to enter the word "club" in the coupon code.

How many other ways might there be to enter the word 'club'?!

Worked for me. Thanks for the tip.
@deanm: I'm not sure how it was failing for you, but maybe your IP address is on a spam blacklist? (Some forums/boards/etc. will simply reject subscriptions based on source IP address or e-mail lookups).

I have subscribed for a couple of years now, and its well worth the read. A bit like the Gleanings for ATM's in Sky and Tel, but much more of it in each issue and tends to focus on commercially available equipment, not ATM stuff.

No if you do it properly it applies the discount first and you dont need CC details.

Ok - the word `club' probably should be in inverted commas in the in initial instructions as I was entering the name of my astronomy club .
Well this is good value ( free ! ) - you can download the PDF versions of the whole back catalog if you wish to . I am going to look for stuff that interested me and save issues straight to Dropbox so I can access from my portable devices.

Thanks Craig - I'd already tried that repeatedly (great minds think etc....!)
Last effort: I've contacted the site administrators: I can't imagine why I'd be on any kind of 'black list' - I'm such a lovely bloke (well, that's what my mirror tells me!!)
Dean
Thanks Mark. I have edited my original post so it is now obvious to enter "club". I wonder if you probably tried a few different astro club names too

Phew!
I contacted the site admin - the 'problem' appears to have been my email address: substituting a 'gmail.com' one rather than 'live.com' resolved the issue - thanks to Stuart at Astronomy Technology Today.

I first met Gary Parkerson at the 2007 Texas Star Party when he
debuted the trade journal Astronomy Technology Today and we have
subscribed ever since.
From Louisiana with a distinctive southern twang, Gary Parkerson can also
tell you a thing or two about cooking gumbo.
In an email today he wrote -

ATT is a great mag. I subscribed to it well over a year ago, and from now on, I think I get it free ...brilliant reviews of astro-gear, honest and incisive. Will recommend club membership to my friends at the AST.
Cheers,
Richard
Thanks Gary, for posting that email. It highlighted some of the problems/queries people had when subscribing and was an interesting read.

Great for a freebie . I did a quick survey of a couple of issues and they run at about 33% adds. Lucky it's mostly Astro bling that's good looking:thumbsup:!!

Subtracted to not give the wrong impression. I forget something I type may be interpreted differently then meant.
Simmo, I checked your post. Some people are true salesmen while the others may as well just roll around laughing :cool3:

Have been subscribed to the on-line version for a number of years now and this is a great magazine. Lots of great reviews - big expensive things and little not so expensive clever things. Just spotted the Televue FoneMate in Issue 1, 2016 today. Very neat and will really help the young ones who want to capture the Moon through the eyepiece but struggle to get alignment.
