i know this doesn't compare to Matt's amazing .99 Strehl but attached are the test results for my new AG optical iDK 14.5. Really happy with the results, can't wait to mount this baby in my observatory. originally i was hoping for a Jan delivery but it is looking more like end of Feb/early March.

That looks like it is going to be a view nice piece of equipment! May not be as good as Matt's.... But it is bigger ;)

it is better than my expectations so that is good.

Certainly more than adequate to drop photons into large pixels :)

It should do the Job :)

Strehl ratios on compound scopes are typically way lower than for an APO refractor. I am not sure what you were referring to with Matt's scope but .99 sounds like a high end APO refractor not a compound scope.

Hi Greg,

i was referring to this
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=142506
10" F6 for Newt that came in at .996

i agree that you only usually see these types of numbers with top refractors. i am very happy with the .96 that i will be getting. definitely top quality optics. i would love to see a test report of a comparable planewave CDK, i would suspect that the iDK would compare rather favourably.

I was just quoting Carl Zambuto's Test report on the mirror I just sent to Phil.
The numbers are all gibberish to me ;)

Theres a mirror for sale here with a 0.999 Stehl must me better than the 0.996 Zambuto :).

I dont think the real numbers matter on the AG Dk as the practical
Strehl ratio (encircled energy ratio ) taking into account the 50% obstruction will be not much more than 0.5 which will mask a lot of optical errors anyway.
