This has to be the arsey-est montage ever!
Apparently (according to CalSky), the track path-width to get the ISS imaged right over the planet's disc was just 40 metres.
Astonishing scope+camera work & excellent GPS localisation!

Yes it is a composite image, see the discussion on Asterisk.
Click here (http://asterisk.apod.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=35581&start=25) for thread discussing the image. Julian Wessel admits its two separate images from different capturing sessions. It's a bit of a sad day to see this happen, but I am unsurprised this has happened.

I got pretty close some years ago....

Close...but no cigar.
That said, I have a much more sensitive PGR camera these days...and suspect
an encore attempt is required ;)
So do you mean, NASA, Russia, Japan, Canada, Germany, EU, etc?
Sigh. Not cool to have created an artificial representation of the transit.
Peter, great effort getting Jove and ISS that close.....
