Here is a relatively deep image for a DSLR. Check out the detail at higher zoom or mag. It is a stack of six twenty minute exposures at an ISO of four hundred. The field of view is 1.15x0.77 degrees.

The HEQ5 is tracking extremely well now all the guiding parameters have been optimised. :juggle: The image scale is about one second of arc per pixel.

Very interesting to see what 20 minutes gets you on a DSLR. To be honest I'm surprised it's not more exposure or even bleeching out, perhaps that's why SBIG still sell STL1100's :)

Anyhow, excellent image - much better than the blue and fainter versions I will achieve with my unmodified 350D.

Congrats on the guiding, I know what a pain it can be sometimes, most of the time, .... good guiding is no small achievment.

Roger.

Hi Bert, yes a great image there, and well framed too, fitting in the tarantula and the other nebulous areas nicely. Nice and deep for F9 imaging too.
