Does anyone happen to know the all-up weight of a ST80 with a GSO Crayford focuser mod ?
I use the ST80 as a travel scope but I wonder if I upgrade the focuser, I might end up with something that weighs as much as my WO71. In which case I may as well use that and save the $$$.

Why not ask a current owner...

That's what prompted the question. He wasn't able to help so I thought I'd throw it out to the general populous.

Fair enough. I've occasionally considered the same combination so I'll be interested in the answer. :)
Are you on Cloudy Nights? Might get a quicker answer there.

According to post #5 in the CN thread below, adding a single-speed GSO focuser increased the weight by around 0.55lbs (250g). However, on the Agena Astro website the dual-speed model is heavier by about 80g.
So you're looking at an increase of around 330g.

Perfect. Thanks. I saw that thread but must have skipped over that sentence.
Mine with dovetail and rings is 1.5kg and his with new focuser is 2.0kg. The WO71 is 3.0kg. So that's 2kg less luggage when you add in the counterweight plus more headroom in mount capacity.
