I took this last night after I finished night shift, from 11pm to 1am.

My flats overcorrect, and its still work in progress.

8in F5 on EQ6, QHY12 OSC camera, PHD guided with Lodestar on Orion Mini-Guidescope. 19x300 secs, with flats, darks and bias applied,

Thanks for looking

Bill

Looks really good Bill, and a fairly similar set-up to me (but with a nicer camera). I wonder if you have a coma corrector in your optics? Looks like a bit of coma is the only thing taking away from the image. I have an MPCC, something like that works well on the 200mm f/5 tube.

Pretty stars Bill. This nebula must be very faint, I'd have thought you'd have more with so much exposure.

Looks like you could do with a coma corrector. My GSO works very well on my 6" F/5 and Nikon D5100, which has the same sized sensor as your QHY12. Being GSO it's pretty affordable.

Looking forward to seeing more :)

Thanks for your encouragement Andy and Cam, yes I definitely need a coma corrector. Got a birthday coming up soon may have to give myself a treat.

Regards

Apart from the aforementioned coma, this is the ripper that your horsehead could have been.

yep nice work Bill, I think your processing has improved from the last time I commented - nice work. a coma corrector will sort those stars out nicely.

all the best,
