Just caught this report on the news. A bit of a shock. He was a unique talented musician and a good actor.

One of my top favourite musicians, even had a bit of a warped acting career, he will be missed.
A great shame. A damn good songwriter and a great singer too.
Saw him in 2003, still hitting the high notes in Life on Mars.

Desperately hoping it's a hoax. :(
I'm such a huge fan- have seen all of his 4 tours to Australia, the ACMI exhibition and own all his albums.
Just wondering about his latest single releazed two days ago, it's called 'Lazarus'.

Still have my treasured vinyl of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars and some others as well. He gave us a lot of never to be forgotten songs, one of the great song writers and performers, r.i.p.

Saw him at Rod Laver Arena when he was here last. Still sounded as good as ever. Great voice. Could sing anything. My wife loved "White Christmas" duet he did with Bing Crosby when he was young. Will be missed by more than one generation of music lovers.
And the stars look very different today!

An excellent showman with an event packed career.
I am very sad to hear he has left us.

'Stunned' doesn't get close. As a friend just said: it seemed like there would always be Bowie.
He was a Hero, forever and ever.

So sad - one of the most innovative and inspirational artists of our generation - "Ashes to Ashes" ...
At least he has his own asteroid (named just a year ago):
"342843 Davidbowie only gained its name on January 5, 2015. It’s a wee wedge of rock with an absolute magnitude of 17.1, far too faint to see with anything short of a professional telescope. Although it was first observed in 2003, it wasn’t recongized as a new discovery until 2008. Fittingly, its orbit is just a bit eccentric, and it does things at its own pace by taking a leisurely four and a half years to complete a single trip around the Sun. If you’re in the Southern hemisphere, you can offer a salute goodbye to Davidbowie by gesturing at the space between the constellations Sagittarius and Scorpio."
