Dear all,

Instead of starting to make a narrowband mosaic of the Carina as I was originally planning, I thought that exploring the LMC will be far more satisfying. So far got only about 3 hours of Ha of NGC 1763, a quick draft can be seen here: http://www.astrobin.com/full/236200/0/

As an experiment, I decided to try 5-minute subs instead of my usual 15-minute subs. I think such short narrowband subs work fine for me, and help me to avoid field rotation and also minimise effects of some tracking imperfections.

For reference, I also attached a screenshot with a single 5-minute sub and with a stack of 33 subs (both auto-stretched).

Thank you for looking
S.

Looking good! Fantastic what having very low read noise allows exposure time wise :)

Thank you gents for your encouragement. Hopefully we will get a few clear nights so the project will have a chance of being completed.

I will need to put NGC 1934 on my imaging list
