If your a Blade Runner fan you may remember that today is an important date in the story line - Roy Batty's inception date. Roy, brilliantly played by Rutger Hauer, was a Nexus 6 replicant.

Story of Roy's birthday here:

Dig out your Director Cut version and watch it again, it stands up very well to the passage of time.

There are rumours that Ridley Scott is developing the long awaited sequel to Blade Runner, set 30 years in the future and bringing Harrison Ford back as Deckard. Perhaps this will address the possibility that Deckard was a replicant himself.

Based on Philip K Dick's story "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep". For the young, this was written before Android was an operating system. ;)

It's a cool movie, ageless even. Happy Inception Day Roy ...

Definitely a classic. If there's a sequel, I hope it refrains from pointless CGI and wall-to-wall action; that it complements the original, rather than tries to better it. But I look forward to it, regardless.

Thanks for the heads-up on "inception day". :)

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die." Roy Batty

To me this is one of the most moving moments in cinematic history. Love the soundtrack that Vangelis wrote for the movie - probably his best cinematic score - Anartica is pretty good too.
