The last morning of 2015 produced some fair seeing and few clouds allowing me to try out the new CH4-8nm filter. Although less than half the bandwidth of my CH4-18nm filter @ 10fps I was still able to image at 43db and managed 6fps. Will good seeing I hope to obtain even higher fps.
The subtropical wet season has arrived bringing much needed rain to fill our thirsty tanks and turn the paddocks green plus put a smile on every ones face. Wishing you all a peaceful and prosperous 2016.

Cheers, Phil

6FPS in CH4 is very impressive Phil.
Amazing that us amateurs can do this these days. Its not so long ago that I can remember 4-10s exposures/frame in CH4... or maybe I'm just showing my age...

Well done; great detail.

Cheers
Maurice

Thanks Maurice, my journey in planetary astronomy started in earnest during 2012 with a 120mm SCT then a 356mm SCT in 2014 and then in late 2015 a 508mm Newt which is where I'll probably stop the aperture hunt unless the mirrors become lighter and better. However cameras are improving at a terrific pace as almost every 6 months a new more sensitive one comes along thanks to the automotive and security industries.

Cheers, Phil
