Another northern favourite from SRO in California, the "Tadpoles" are 10 light-year long structures of gas and dust formed by the stellar wind from newly formed stars.

Beautiful image Rick, there's a real 3D feel to this one.

Love the colours and subtle highlights/shadows.

Cheers Geoff

So much in that image to get lost in Rick, I LOVE the colour scheme, most of all those neon orange tadpoles :D

That's lovely Rick, I love all the little details everywhere, those tadpoles are very cool (almost look alive) and the colour palette looks ok too. I like the 3D'ness at this framing it reminds me a bit of a close up on the heart of the running chicken, a very enjoyable image

One minor suggestion and just from a processing/aesthetics point of view only, the stars look a little dulled, love to see a version where you have retained more of the star intensity/brightness.

Great work

That's a cool shot Rick. That area reminds me a bit of around the cluster in M16 above the pillars just under those dark boks.

Great image, Rick …
One of coolest “Tadpoles” I’ve ever seen … :D

Love the framing & colour Rick! Agree with Mike about giving the stars some more "sparkle".

Thanks, Geoff.

Thanks, Colin. It took a while before I decided that the usual turquoise/gold SHO thing wasn't quite right for this image.

Thanks, Mike. I was hoping to plug in some RGB stars but the weather isn't cooperating. Perking up the colourless stars sounds like a decent alternative. Appreciate the suggestion!

Thanks, Marc. Now that you mention it, it does look a bit like that area of M16.

Ta, Ian!

Thanks, Marcus!

Lovely colour palette Rick, with fine detail throughout the image - excellent.

Exceedingly fine, Rick.

We've been on duty feeding the neighbour's chooks. We notice two of them, as exquisitely feathered black dust silhouettes, about half way up from dead centre.

Some beautifully sharp and clear erosion edges at and near the tadpoles.

Best,
M & T

Thank you, Steve.

Thanks, M&T. For such poor flyers those chooks certainly get around!

That's a crackerjack image Rick, you should be well pleased with that one.
Must confess a slight feeling of jealousy what with your access to those nthn hemisphere targets and all.
You're certainly making the most of your investment over there, well done!

Wow! Beautifully processed Rick. I love how the colour is well saturated and yet subtle at the same time (if that makes sense!)

Thanks, Andy! It is nice to have access to the iconic (and some of the more obscure) northern targets. Fingers crossed for good weather in 2016 so I can do some serious local projects as well.

Thanks, Lucas. I did fiddle with the colour a lot!

Wow, lovely work Rick and so beautifully presented.

The high res version on my 2560x1440 BenQ display is stunning – I may have to get a larger screen to see it all in one view!

I love the controlled processing and very smooth background, not to mention the edge-to-edge sharpness and clarity.

If I had a pool room, this would be on the wall.:)

Cheers

A lovely vista there Rick. Love the colour scheme and framing. The stars are a bit haloed and soft - erosion or minimum filter in the morphological transformation tool?

Greg.

Thanks, Dennis! I don't have a pool room either but I might print a copy for the boardroom at work.

Thanks, Greg. Mike and Marcus also pointed out the soft stars (I think it was the result of a combination of processing steps, including some MT Erosion). I had intended to replace them with RGB stars but I don't have any RGB data yet.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks, Suavi. El Niño weather in California is not helping with the RGB :mad2:
