Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a great christmas! I managed to get out for a couple of short stints just before the big day to capture some narrowband data (due to the full moon). It is spider season so I thought I would add this one to the collection. I managed to get 6x20min Ha and 6x20min OIII. I have just replaced the worm in the NEQ6 so it was a bit of a test run. I measured the PE of the mount to be + 11 arcsecs so it it a nice improvement from the stock standard.

Scope: GSO RC10 CF
Mount: NEQ6 pro belt/worm mod
Camera: Atik One 6.0 mono

I will get brave one day and post a full res image on Astrobin...
Thanks for looking,
C&C always welcome

Looking good Lucas. The RC 10 is performing well by the looks of the star shapes across the image. Nice faint whisps of nebula across the field and the core comes through nicely as well without being blown out. Only improvement I can think of is to keep capturing data and then post a higher resolution version. Thanks for posting.

It is pretty good so far, looking forward to seeing some more data being added.

Excellent sharpness. I also look forward to a higher resolution version.

I really like how your image neatly shows areas of distribution of ionised hydrogen and oxygen gas around the central part of the spider, well done Lucas!

Thanks Rodney. I will endeavor to get more time on this image but I am a little bit of a target hopper due to the lack of imaging time I get.

Thanks Colin.

Thanks Mike and Trish. I was really happy with how the detail turned out also. Will try and get some more data soon and hopefully post that larger image soon! I might just post the larger image I have anyway...see how I go.

Thanks Slawomir. It has that nice gaseous look that I really like to see with nebulas.

Nice Lucas. Where did you get your worm replacement for the NEQ6?

An unusual uniform purple, which doesn't look to bad actually and yes, at that size it certainly does look good Lucas

Thanks Glen, I have pm'd you about the worm.

Thanks Rick. I am forever trying new techniques to refine my images from my less than ideal skies!

Thanks Marc. I appreciate the feedback as it lets me know I am heading in the right direction.

Thanks Mike. Yes, my colour mapping skills require a little polishing as the initial thought process was modified hubble. The result however as you say kind of works for this object. Might try a more traditional palette next image but you never know!
