The weather was at times a bit uncooperative and I made for the Cradle Mountain at 0330 in the morning. I was surprised when I got there by just how bright it was already. There was a waning moon and I expected that to illuminate the landscape but not that the sky would be so bright already. It was lovely and peaceful and there was a brisk breeze blowing from off the lake, so no glassy reflections there :( In all the total absence of cloud ( a complete difference from the day before!) made for a very average sunrise with no nice colouring of the landscape. Anyway here is the Blue hour just before dawn.

Thanks for looking

great composition, the tree at left seems a bit out of focus [have to expect that at f2.8 i suppose…overall it is very bright-close to full moon though

There was a very stiff breeze blowing so the tree was moving, This would account for the soft focus.
Thanks Guys, I just love this vista and would have loved the opportunity to take more pics.. definitely in my future plans.

Paul.
The Magellanic clouds and The Emu make me realise how fortunate I am to live in the Southern Hemisphere. And Cradle Mountain is a bushwalking memory I treasure.
Your photo is Just Loverly.
Think I'll take another look at my Tassie holiday photos.
Cheers.
