LMC with Bert's lens in hydrogen alpha light

Howdy
I turned Bert's magnificent 300mm f2.8 flourite lens onto the LMC last night. Weather was surprisingly good, because the noreaster didnt push in, the dry NW prevailed.
image is 3x10 mins ISO 200, IDAS uv/ir and Baader 7Nm Ha filters installed in back of Bert's 300mm f2.8 flourite lens. Image shot at F2.8, this lens doesnt need to be stopped down!
The fast sharp lens and the severe 4Nm filter works well to bring out even the fainter Ha emitting regions in the lmc. I still had to use the masking technique to stop the bright areas from burning out. I was happy to pick up the strange S shaped nebula in the middle of the LMC.

Shots like this wouldnt be possible wothout the great products on the market nowdays, DSLRS, narroband filters, and kind people like Bert for lending me such a magnificent lens.

Have you saved this one as web size differently to the others? There seems to be a lot more jpeg compression artifacts in the attachment, than usual.

Houghy suggested I combine the image into a colour image Id taken previously.
Heres the result of replacing the red channel of a LMC image with Berts lens taken a few months ago (4x6 mins ISO 400 UHCS filter), with the HA image here, after aligning and rotating it. Sure brings out the red nebulae :)

The file size of the Ha image turned out to be about 130KB with the level of compression I used to save it at the size I did. Some images seem to compress better then others.

Just curious how the filter screws on the back of the lense?

Howdy
The Canon mount in back of the lens actually screws off, and there is room inside it to put 2 inch filters in, they just sit inside fairly snugly when it is screwed back onto the lens. As one cant see anything through a Ha filter I point towards a bright star and take some 2 sec exposures on Jpeg setting, adjusting focus till sharp, then reset back to RAW and off I go.
