14 x 20 mins of data taken on Wednesday night with a QHY8 on an RC8 of the Running Man nebula.

Seeing seemed to be quite good - small enough so the difference in guiding errors in RA and dec manifests as noticeably non-round stars rather than being lost in the seeing! :( Swings and roundabouts I guess!!

Full res here (http://www.astrobin.com/full/231382/0/).

Thanks for looking.

Nice looking Running Man :) I did never quite understand why it is a running man though!

Despite the stars the detail up close is great.

Your colour handling is far more pleasing to me than the 2014 APOD. Gorgeous dust details. Well done.

Thanks Marc.

Thanks Colin. LOL. Yeah. I had to Google it! Interestingly, if you rotate it through 90 degrees it looks more like Homer Simpson! Though perhaps that's just me :)

Thanks Paul. Yes, I was pleased with the sharpness. Seems to be the lowest FWHM I've yet managed.

Thanks Mike.

LOL. In my defence, though M42 was the first object I imaged 3 years or so ago when I took up imaging. I've resisted the temptation and this is the first time I've been back to it (or next to it in this shot!) since. I've missed it!!

My son was less than impressed by my geekiness in observing that NGC 1977 was appropriate to image in the same week the new Star Wars movie comes out, as the first one was released in 1977. :fight:

Really nice work! The understudy to Orion's brilliance but just as spectacular.
