We recently did some landscaping and found a solid seam of what appeared to be limestone. On closer inspection the texture and make-up of the material was reminiscent of similar layers at a nearby beach on Bass Strait.
Perhaps this is all too common and of no particular interest, but unearthing a fossilized shell (I presume it to be) in the back yard generated some excitement.
It's fragile and no attempt has been made to clean it up. I wonder how many I slashed through with the shovel.
