Check this out, as Spock would say... fascinating!

16 lenses, computational imaging in camera, multi aperture, multi lenses and multiple sensors, in a camera that looks like a smartphone?

okaaaaaay then...

Having seen some surprisingly good shots come out of a smart phone it could very good.

Not sure a want to wait for the laser range finder to focus on the planets though!

Saw that a few months back on Facebook. I don't reckon the major manufacturers have much to worry about in the professional space, but as a consumer camera, maybe.

But then, everyone already has an increasingly large and clunky smartphone that barely fits in their pocket, squeezed into their pocket. Are they going to want to carry another large and thick device around with them? Smartphone photography took off as they now produce acceptable images and pretty much everyone already has the device there with them for 90% of their waking hours. This seems a little like having a smartphone camera in your pocket and carrying another camera around with you just in case you want to take a photo.

And the lenses/covers look a bit exposed to me, who has never scratched the optics on their smartphone? The difference being most people expect to go get a new phone every couple of years so minor damage is less of a concern.
