Hello,

As part of the preparation for the ISS Lunar disc transit (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=140461)the next day (Sat 21st Nov 2015), I set up on the Friday night for a dry run and for 1st light of the ASI174MM.

I was so glad of this dress rehearsal as I was able to get the equipment configuration sorted out, establish the optimum settings for each set up and get to grips with the newly arrived ASI174MM.

Although these are test shots, I think they scrubbed up very well as the seeing was very good at the time. Tak 180 F12, Tak x1.6 Extender, ASI174MM ccd camera.

I’ve noticed that the dark tones tend to block up; not too sure if this is my processing or a property oh the higher dynamic range of the ASI174MM and the saving of the output as (compressed) jpgs?

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Tony and Gus, I appreciate your comments.:)

@ Tony: It looks like I have confused you – all this happened last week! The dress rehearsal proved invaluable, as it saved me from stuffing up the critical 0.5 second window of opportunity.:D

Cheers

Dennis,
Great images from what I think is a great camera, well done!
(BTW the ZWO ASI174MM is a Cmos rather than a ccd camera)

Thanks John & Ken, I appreciate your comments.:)

Thanks for the CMOS vs CCD correction Ken, just being lazy I guess!;)

And yes, it is quite a performer isn’t it.

Good work Dennis. You'll love the 174. Stick with uncompressed outputs.
